Jefferson Davis of Mississippi, he had the difficult task of leading the South during the War, and was unjustly tortured by his Yankee captors for two years after the ordeal had ended.  Interestingly, his death occurred on the feast day of one of the Church’s most beloved saints, Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker (the same St Nicholas associated with the Christmas season).  There have been a number of times when St Nicholas has miraculously interceded on behalf of those wrongfully accused; perhaps we will find in the Eternal Day that there was some connection between St Nicholas and Pres Davis during his imprisonment.

Stillbirths and COVID Shots

Dr. Nagase: From one of the local doctors in North Vancouver, Dr Mel Bruchet, he has contacts all through Vancouver. And some doulas who work in Women and Children's Hospital which isn't in North Vancouver, it's in Vancouver-Vancouver, it's one of the birthing centers for Vancouver. They had 13 stillbirths in a 24 hour period. That was what I heard. But the thing is I've also heard a similar story out in Waterloo, Ontario. So in Waterloo, Ontario, I have a more reliable statistic that there were 86 stillbirths between January and July. And normally it's 5 or 6 stillbirths every year. About 1 stillbirth every two months is the usual rate. So to suddenly get to 86 stillbirths in 6 months, that's highly unusual. But the confirmation, the most important confirmation that we have, from the Waterloo, Ontario report was that all of the 86 stillbirths were fully vaccinated.

Offsite Post: ‘Don’t Go to War over Belarus’

 

The Deep State in Washington City seems to have settled on its next target for regime change:  Alexander Lukashenko, the president of Belarus.  Casually listening to lefty NPR today yielded two in-depth reports on the supposed evils being perpetrated by Pres Lukashenko.  The right is also fueling the fire with reports of its own about the crisis at the border of Poland and Belarus.

We have seen this too many times in recent years not to understand what is happening.  When the news media of all political persuasions begins to coalesce around a bad guy, they, like St John the Baptist, are preparing the way – for a war.  Saddam Hussein in Iraq, Slobodan Milosevich in Serbia, Muammar Qaddafi in Libya, Bashar Assad in Syria, the technique is the same every time:  Vilify the target for weeks, and then bomb and/or invade.

The media handwringing over refugees is dishonest at best.  If these reporters were really concerned about them, they would be pressuring the US and EU to stop the wars in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) that these superstates started and which have caused millions of people to seek shelter in Western Europe.  Instead, they either turn a blind eye, or keep up the pressure for more Western intervention in the MENA region.

The Washington Deep State’s goals in Belarus are likely related to what is going in Ethiopia and elsewhere in MENA:

 

The destruction of state structures in the Horn of Africa is the Pentagon’s objective after having destroyed state structures in the wider Middle East. The destruction of Sudan (divided in 2011 into Sudan proper and South Sudan) and Ethiopia (divided in 1993 into Ethiopia proper and Eritrea) has already taken place. Both countries are now in the midst of new civil wars that are likely to lead to new partitions.

 

Leading the way, the American diplomat Jeffrey D. Feltman first organised the war in Syria for ten years – i.e. the financing and arming of the jihadists – [1], before becoming President Joe Biden’s special envoy for the Horn of Africa. His speech, on November 1, 2021, before the Pentagon think tank, the U.S. Institute of Peace (equivalent to the National Endowment for Democracy -NED- [2] in the Secretariat of State), repeated the same rhetoric that was successively developed against Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen and Lebanon.

Weak, divided countries are easier for a union of States with global, hegemonic pretensions to control, in whatever part of the world they are in. 

But in the case of Belarus, the intentions go beyond this.  The destabilization of Russia is the real goal here.  The power-mad American elite detest any nation that dares to challenge American supremacy in global affairs.  Russia is one of those nations of late, along with China, so they must be brought back into subjection to Pres Obama’s Indispensable Nation somehow. 

Surrounding enemies like Russia with nations run by American puppets is one way to do that (first the Ukraine in 2014; now an attempt in Belarus).  But if conservatives in the States really want to make a clean break with the phony conservatism of the Bushes, Boehners, Cheneys, and others of previous years, then they need to reject this new push to meddle in the internal affairs of a country thousands of miles away that has little bearing on our day-to-day lives.  Europe can and should handle the Poland-Belarus situation on its own, without US interference.

The South, for her part, should follow the sound advice of her mature statesmen.  Here is some of what one of them said during the Vietnam War:

What a Truly Christian New England Would Look Like

 

We get a pretty good idea by looking back at the history of her forefathers in southeastern England, when the Orthodox Faith was at its greatest strength there:

 

Consolidation and Missionary Work (664-749)

 

With the death of King Aethelwald in 664, there came to an end the 35-year long reigns of the four nephews of King Raedwald. There now came a long period of peace and consolidation under two East Anglian rulers, father and son, the two reigns totalling 85 years, so giving continuity. The first was King Aldwulf (664-713), son of King Aethilric (+ 636), with a reign of 49 years. During the reign of King Aldwulf, East Anglia was divided into two dioceses, with a see in south-east Suffolk at what is now Felixstowe, and in north-east Suffolk, probably at what is now South Elmham (then called Helmham). Probably in the ninth century this centre was transferred to what is now called North Elmham, not so far away in south Norfolk.

 

It was in this period that the port of Gipeswic (Ipswich) developed as a great trading centre, facing the northern Continent, the Rhine and Scandinavia across the North Sea. In fact, this Sea could perhaps better be viewed as a lake, on whose western shore lies Ipswich. Two more churches, dedicated to the Mother of God and St Augustine, were built here. Pottery, now known as ‘Ipswich Ware’, was made, ships were built and textiles, jewellery, leatherware, antlerware and baskets were manufactured. Frisian merchants were very active, as Ipswich was the commercial centre of East Anglia. ‘Gipeswic’, the third biggest English port and trading centre (‘wic’) after London (‘Lundenwic’) and York (‘Eoforwic’) and situated between them.

 

In this way East Anglia also became one of the most important centres for missionary work for north-western Europe. Thus, the local veneration for St Botolph was taken there and later reached Scandinavia and from there Kiev, making him a patron saint of travellers. Later an English missionary to Utrecht called St Eadwulf (later deformed into Adulf), possibly related to St Botolph (Botwulf), also reposed at Iken.

 

During the reign of King Aldwulf’s son, King Aelfwald (713-749), developments went further. East Anglia controlled its economy, developed international trade and towns, promoting churches, monasteries and literacy, sending forth its light into the world, breathing the Gospel both into Mercia to the west and to north-western Europe, to the east. Thus, in 714 Aelfwald’s sister, Edburgh, who may have been identical with St Edburgh, Abbess of Minster in Thanet in Kent, provided a coffin for the great fen ascetic, the Mercian Guthlac of Crowland. Aelfwald himself commissioned the Life of the saint, written by a certain monk Felix, the name suggesting his East Anglian origins. At the same time King Aelfwald of East Anglia, with its two bishops in Felixstowe and South Elmham, helped the Mercian King Aethelbald to power after the death of the evil King of Mercia, Ceolred, in 716.

 

His sister Edburgh continued to play an important role and is believed to have become Abbess of Ely and then went to Minster in Kent, if she is indeed identical to the Abbess of Minster. In any case in the thirteenth century a chapel dedicated to her, St Edburgh, is recorded at Thornham in north mid-Suffolk. Abbess Edburgh came under the influence of the great English missionary Boniface of Crediton and became one of his most devoted disciples. Boniface, born in c. 675, had first gone to Friesland as a missionary in 716 and was to spend most of the next almost forty years in what is now western Germany, Luxembourg and Holland, totally reorganising the Church of the Franks and becoming the ‘Apostle of the Germans’.

Many people in the States will be focused this Thanksgiving Day to some degree on the New England pilgrims, their faith, and their vision for creating a new political/social/religious order in North America.  But as we and others before us have pointed out, their Christianity was actually a bizarre form of ecstatic Gnosticism; their new society, a frightening dystopia.  The pilgrims are not the epitome of evil in the world; nor were they without their virtues, some of which we wrote about here:

Nevertheless, the sooner the preoccupation with the ‘Pilgrim Fathers’ and all their erroneous thinking ends – and the sooner the re-baptism of New England and the other cultural regions of the [u]nited States in the font of the Orthodox Church is effected – the better off the peoples of the States, and of the world, will be; and the sooner the Yankees will be able to do some real good in this world – in imitation of their Orthodox ancestors – to atone for their misdeeds of the past and present.
