Seeking Answers to the Crisis: This-worldly

How ought the South and other freedom-minded States, counties, parishes, and cities, towns, and villages respond to a tyranny of the proportion discussed in the preceding entries?  Not head-on, but through a number of smaller, peaceful means, which are themselves not without dangers.

Nullification and secession are excellent remedies for a government grown tyrannical.  If only a few states would coordinate their efforts to nullify the Orwellian-named Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare),

or the NSA spy grid,

it would greatly upset the drive toward total centralized control and encourage others to stand up against unjust laws of the federal government as well.

Secession, naturally, would have the same effect, only more pronounced.  And ironically enough, our Yankee cousins are beginning to raise a cry not heard from their region since the years leading up to the War of Northern Aggression - that the North should let the South secede:

‘A CNN travel editor named Chuck Thompson has established himself as a one-man hate group in writing a short book entitled Better Off Without ‘Em: A Northern Manifesto for Southern Secession.”  He advertised his book in an October 20 article in Salon entitled “Just Secede Already.”  Oh, if only we could’ (Thomas DiLorenzo, ‘A “Liberal” Bigot’s Guide to Hating the South’, http://www.lewrockwell.com/2013/10/thomas-dilorenzo/the-bigots-guide-to-hating-southerners/ - Mr Thomas’s review of this book is well worth reading for the historical ground, North and South, that it covers).

Drawbacks:  Many state and local government officials are loyal to the same devilish bankster-corporate Elite whom most federal officials, whether elected or not, serve.  We must know who are our allies, and who our enemies.

Massive non-participation in the current corrupt political system, as Dr Hill with the League of the South and others have argued, could help discredit it and thus bring about its end more quickly.  And this does indeed seem to be happening already, to a degree:

As the “American System” of paper money and empire continues its decay, the number of American citizens who are losing faith in it appears to be growing. I come to this conclusion based on the burgeoning number of commentaries that I see from people who comprise what is known as the class of “respectable opinion”.

Today, I came across yet another plea that without politics, life itself would grind to a screaming halt.

Kathryn Jean Lopez seeks to remind everyone that reads National Review, that “political disengagement is not an option”. In other words, you were born into a system where robbing your neighbor, and using force against your neighbor, is your only option. Seeking to live peacefully by not taking part is simply not a choice for you to make.

Drawbacks:  There must be institutions ready to resume the responsibilities that have been uptaken either unlawfully or unwisely (or both) by the government and the corporations (apologies for the redundancy) at all levels:  the extended family, churches, monasteries, charities, farms, guilds, and so forth.  Without them, we would be in for a very rough transition.

It helps tremendously, of course, when the Elite fight amongst themselves.  Dr Farrell explains the growing rifts in a recent news video:

The South should make the fullest use possible of this infighting to wriggle out from under their heavy authoritarian boots.

In a coming essay we will briefly explore the spiritual side to protection against and deliverance from the American Empire.
