The Protection of the Saints

There is a lot of unease today in the South and elsewhere in the world over a number of things:  disease, foreign invaders, totalitarian government/corporate officials, and such like.  For protection from dangers Orthodox Christians have always turned to the saints.  This practice is still very much alive in Orthodox countries.  Here is what one Romanian town just did in invoking the protection of the Mother of God over herself:

While Orthodox Christians everywhere love the Mother of God and turn to her in prayer in times of need, one Romania town is taking this relationship to a new level.

Negrești Oaș is located in northwestern Romania, near the Ukrainian border. It is the capital of the Oaș Country ethnographic region, and as of Sunday, it is officially under the Heavenly protection of the Most Holy Theotokos, as declared by His Grace Bishop Timotei of Maramureș and Satu Mare, reports the Basilica News Agency.

The decision to proclaim the Mother of God the patron of Negrești Oaș was taken at the session of the Permanent Diocesan Council on December 5.

The proclamation took place in the Cathedral of All Saints, with the document being read out by Fr. Cristian Ştefan, the diocesan councilor. Before the proclamation, His Grace blessed an icon of the Mother of God with the Oaș cathedral, the Archangels Gabriel and Michael, and the Holy Cross, especially commissioned for the event.

The icon will be honored at city hall and in schools and social and public establishments.

This is how Southrons also ought to respond to threats:  by choosing a patron saint to guard our neighborhoods, towns, counties, parishes, States, rivers, bayous, crops, cattle, families, and so forth.  Who is mightier than God’s saints?  Their miracles as protectors have been documented countless times (St Agatha in Sicily, St Demetrius in Thessalonika, St Genevieve in Paris, etc.).

In this, as in so much else, Dixie would benefit greatly by keeping in step with the ways of her Orthodox forebears.

Does anyone remember the swine flu ‘pandemic’ of 2009?  It was declared a Phase 6 Global Pandemic by the World Health Organization.  Two billion people in the world were predicted to be infected after all was said and done; thousands in America alone were going to die.  But the nightmare scenario never happened.  Why not?  After Big Pharma got its bonanza payoff to make billions of doses of swine flu vaccine from various government agencies, and after other globalist objectives were no doubt met in backroom deals, etc., the illness fizzled out.  The current coronavirus ‘epidemic’ looks a lot like this one from 11 years ago (complete with government wealth transfers from the plain folk to the Big Pharma parasites for vaccine research:  https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2020/03/06/812964894/where-that-8-3-billion-in-u-s-coronavirus-funding-will-and-wont-go).  We encourage everyone to review the events surrounding the 2009 swine flu ‘pandemic’ for themselves in order to get a better grip on what is happening now:

Do not be afraid.  Trust in God and His saints; and humbly ask the Mother of God to reveal the truth to all.

Holy Ælfred the Great, King of England, South Patron, pray for us sinners at the Souð, unworthy though we are!

Anathema to the Union!
