The Music of Resistance

‘There's No Hope For You D.C.’
There's no hope for you D.C., go away
There's no need for you here

I'd like to think that all of this constant interference
Is just the kind to make you drive yourself away
Each simple action done by me is regulated
And leaves me standing here with nothing else to say

Completely baffled by a backward indication
That an inspired thought will come into your mind
Letters written kindly to propel the situation
Have simply halted
And now daytime dreaming’s done

There's no hope for you D.C., go away
There's no need for you here

I'm only waiting for the proper time to tell you
That it's impossible to get along with you
It's hard to look you in the face when you are guarded
So it helps to have a mirror in the room

I have been truly looking forward to secession
And here's my chance and there's a scowl on your face
Perfectly I can see that you’re a monster
So just go away
And do not leave a trace

There's no hope for you D.C., go away
There's no need for you here

Spying on us daily
Burning money
Robbing blindly
Breaking fam’lies
Teaching nonsense
Bombing weddings
Groping children
Doing things
Positively evil
Just go away

There's no hope for you D.C., go away
There's no need for you here

(A rewrite of The White Stripes' single 'There's No Room for You Here'.  Sing along!  You'll feel better.)
