Why Capitalists Hate Christian Countries

In Islam, the world is divided between the dar al-Islam and the dar al-harb: the House of Islam and the House of War (i.e., those peoples who have not submitted to Muslim rule - http://www.jihadwatch.org/islam-101, accessed 30 July 2014).

Western anti-Christian capitalists view the world in much the same way:  There is the House of Capitalism and the House of War:  Those nations who live in submission to the rules of monopoly capitalism and those who refuse to do so.

And just as Muslims are obligated to wage war on all countries until they submit to Allah, so must the capitalists wage war on all the ‘backward’ peoples of the world until they bow in obedience to the capitalist gods of Progress and Mammon.

Among those backward peoples are those who take Christianity seriously.  For capitalism above all else seeks to define the worth of man and the creation solely in terms of money.  The Orthodox Church rejects this idea, proclaiming that man, soil, plants, water, birds, bears, sun, stars, and all the rest are priceless creations of God, not merely dead matter or 'human resources', not simply commodities to be auctioned off at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange for use in one of Blake’s ‘satanic mills’.

Furthermore, man’s highest calling, teaches the Church, is not only to unite himself with the uncreated grace of God through holy living, but also to shower this grace upon the rest of the creation, over which the Lord in the beginning placed him as king, making it sacred and holy and full of Light along with himself.

In so doing, Christians place man and the creation beyond the utilitarian pale of capitalism - a grave sin according to the capitalists, for it impinges on their ability to generate profit.  If the Christians do not voluntarily repent of it, they must be ‘saved’ against their will, by force (economic or military).

This is what the South was guilty of in the eyes of the Northern industrialists in the 19th century, and which led to the War; this is what Russia was guilty of in the early 20th century that provoked the Western-backed Revolution of the Bolsheviks:

The institution of the peasant commune in prerevolutionary Russia is one of the world’s unique institutions; and also one that is almost unknown. As Americans continue to work long hours for comparatively less pay, continue to see unions disappear and see any kind of job security dissipate, maybe it is time to look at other models of economic organization.

It need not be said that the commune, for American historiography, is derided. This is largely for one important reason: the architects of liberalism and capitalism in Russia were the elite; the elite political and economic forces. For them, the commune was an irritant, a set of protections that permitted the average peasant a great deal of protection against exploitation. the destruction of the commune then, was absolutely necessary for the Russian neo-Jacobins to impose constitutional capitalism on Royal Russia.

In the commune, the church calendar was the primary medium for telling time. This meant that the work year was short, for the calendar of traditional Christianity saw four fast periods as well as dozens of major feasts, whether local, national or pan-Orthodox. One of the main reasons the liberal bourgeois in Russia hated the commune was that it sanctioned the traditional agrarian practice of only working about 2/3 of the year. The rest was made up in fasting, feasting and cultural pursuits. Therefore, the protections, immunities and traditions of communal life were absolutely incompatible with capitalism, “constitutionalism” and liberalism.

And this is what Russia and those aligned with her are primarily guilty of today: rejection of the Western consumer lifestyle and the practice of normal Christian life (keeping saints’ days and fast days, all-night prayer vigils, etc.).  Thus they hamper the collection of all the peoples of the world into a vast, dreary collection of manufacturing centers that (contrary to the propaganda) exist to enrich the owners, not the workers.  The ‘new world order’ advocated by George H. W. Bush, Barack Obama, etc. is held at bay.

And so the monopoly capitalists of the [u.] S. and Western Europe, via their neo-Nazi proxies in the Ukraine who are busily bombing churches and hospitals of the Russian ‘separatists’ (and likely using outlawed phosphorous weapons as well),

are now setting the stage for an unnecessary and unjust aggressive war against Russia, the leader of the resistance to the forces of anti-Christ in the world (though, admittedly, still a good ways from full spiritual recovery herself because of the battering she endured from those same forces for much of the 20th century).

Despite the conclusion by US intelligence that there is no evidence of Russian involvement in the destruction of the Malaysian airliner and all lives onboard, Washington is escalating the crisis and shepherding it toward war.

Twenty-two US senators have introduced into the 113th Congress, Second Session, a bill, S.2277, “To prevent further Russian aggression toward Ukraine and other sovereign states in Europe and Eurasia, and for other purposes.” https://beta.congress.gov/113/bills/s2277/BILLS-113s2277is.pdf The bill is before the Committee on Foreign Relations.

Note that prior to any evidence of any Russian aggression, there are already 22 senators lined up in behalf of preventing further Russian aggression.

Accompanying this preparatory propaganda move to create a framework for war, hot or cold with Russia, NATO commander General Philip Breedlove announced his plan for a deployment of massive military means in Eastern Europe that would permit lightening responses against Russia in order to protect Europe from Russian aggression.

There we have it again: Russian Aggression. Repeat it enough and it becomes real.

The existence of “Russian aggression” is assumed, not demonstrated.  . . .

So whoever you be, whether Southern-born or no, just be sure you know what your federal government (which is yours in name only) and their Western allies are about to destroy - the only bulwark left between you and the establishment of the Anti-Christ’s worldwide rule of darkness and torment.  For Hannity, Limbaugh, and plenty of so-called conservatives simply do not know or will not accept this:

Just one ensample of Russia’s Christian soul over against the West’s heathen soul:

Khotkovo, a small town near Moscow, became a place of pilgrimage on July 16. The town has probably never welcomed such a large number of people. This is because the celebrations dedicated to the 700th anniversary of the birth of St. Sergius, one of the most revered of Russian saints, began here.

At seven in the morning, traffic was blocked in the cities of Sergiev Posad and Khotkovo. Pilgrims from all over the country – Kazakhstan, Udmurtia, Chuvashia, Vologda, Penza, and the Moscow region – were taken to the places of celebration on special buses. People arrived early to attend Liturgy and venerate the relics of Sts. Cyril and Maria of Radonezh, parents of the Venerable Sergius.

At 12 o’clock the car with Patriarch Kirill arrived at the front gates of the Khotkovo Patriarchal Monastery. The Patriarch served a moleben in the St. Nicholas Cathedral at the relics, and then headed the procession. He walked under an umbrella, together with all the bishops and priests, for the entire fifteen kilometers.

It took around forty minutes for all the people to exit the monastery’s gates, and the procession stretched for five kilometers.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, about 36,000 people came to Khotkovo and Sergiev Posad. About 29,000 people participated in the procession. Together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Cossacks provided security service. 600 volunteers were also involved in the event.

People sat and lay right on the grass, gathering strength before the next transition. The temperature of 35 degrees Celsius [95 degrees Fahrenheit] had its effect on people. . . .

Now consider America, where tens of thousands of people will gather together in uncomfortable conditions primarily for things like NFL games and Black Friday sales (and generally behave abominably there), not to honor a saint of the living God.

We must decide quickly, inside the South and out, which is really our foe - a Russia on the mend spiritually, or a Western world falling further and further under the influence of the demonic lusts unleashed by her system of anti-Christian imperialistic capitalism.

The Times Are Favorable . . .

. . . for the South distancing herself from Washington City.  Dr Joseph Farrell discusses the latest developments with the BRICSA alliance of nations in this video upload, and in particular some developments regarding the alliance and the province of British Columbia in Canada that could have ramifications for the States currently trapped in the American Empire if the trend continues.

As a prelude to secession, then, perhaps the Southern States could begin cultivating ties with Brazil (one of the BRICSA nations, and, through her mediation, with the rest of the alliance) and with other Caribbean nations, with whom the South shares some cultural and historical likenesses:

A Warning to the West from Dachau

St Justin Popovich has given the title ‘Apostle to the West’ to the holy bishop of Zhicha, Serbia - St Nikolai Velimirovich (+1956).  Rightly did he do so, for few have been as untiring as he in his calls for the nations of the West to repent of their errors and return to the Orthodox Faith - the faith of Western Europe for one thousand years before the catastrophe of the Great Schism, few as kind and zealous in showing them those errors.

The time St Nikolai spent in the Nazi concentration camp of Dachau (1944-5) gave him the opportunity to meditate deeply on the horrible condition of the souls of the West that had brought about such evils as the Second World War.  What he put into writing during those days is beyond price for those willing to listen.  Below is one of those meditations, translated by Father Andrew Phillips (and with a short introduction by him) and cross-posted here with his kind permission.

May we in the South and all Western nations come to our senses before it is too late.

From 15 September 1944 to 8 May 1945, the great Serbian Orthodox theologian and contemporary Church Father, Bishop Nicholas (Velimirovich) of Zhicha, was imprisoned by the Nazis in the notorious concentration camp of Dachau. There he kept a diary of seventy-six chapters, ‘Through a Prison Window’, in which he addressed himself to the Serbian people.

In it St Nicholas the Serb, as many now call him, never mentioned his own sufferings, but rather expressed his profound grief at the spiritual and moral decadence of contemporary mankind, which he called, ‘Life without aim and death without hope’. According to the Saint, it was this aimlessness and hopelessness which explained the European catastrophe of the twentieth century and its World Wars.

Here follows the translation of one of those chapters. May God grant us the time to translate other chapters of the unique and inspired work of this contemporary Saint, who is still calling Europe to repentance.

47: Blessed is the Lord Who Awaits Correction

There was a man who had two daughters. The younger separated from her father and went off to distant lands, where she wasted all her substance in riotous living.

Christ the Saviour had two daughters – Asia and Europe. Asia was the elder, Europe the younger. Christ greatly loved the younger daughter and the younger daughter loved Him and lived in His presence, not separating from Him for a thousand years. But after a thousand years Europe began to hate Christ, Her Parent, and began to move away from Him, until she had altogether separated from Him, going away into a foreign land, a land that was not God’s, a pagan land, and returned to the rubbish tip, where Christ had once found her, found her, washed her and led her into the King’s palaces.

But without Christ Europe grew poor, falling into such poverty and squalor that no-one wanted to offer a helping hand, for fear that she would steal even that hand, for he who is without God is without honour, and he who is without God is without truth and mercy. As the prophet said: The Lord loves truth and mercy (Ps. 83, 12). And for those who lose the Lord it is impossible to keep mercy and truth. Thus, having separated from the Lord, Europe lost mercy and truth. The impenetrable darkness of paganism captivated her soul. And already she could no longer see anything, she was pitiable, hungry, beggarly, naked and blind. Europe became like this, having moved away from her spiritual Parent, Christ, against His will.

But even in her extreme poverty Europe was not humbled, because of her haughty pride. Scorned by all the continents, she continued to exalt herself over mankind and sing the praises of her wonders. The essence of her motto was this: Christ is not a Wonderworker, but I, Europe, I am a Wonderworker. I invented the compass, the microscope and the telescope, I have counted the stars, I have calculated the length and breadth of the Universe, I have discovered medicines, I have devised surgical instruments, I have made dynamite to destroy mountain-sides, I have created machines that fly, machines that go underwater, machines that float; I am the goddess of the invention of machines, steamships and railways, electrical instruments, radio and television. I, I, I and I! ‘I’ am the main wonderworker of this age. There is no longer a Wonderworking God, he is the comforting blanket of primitive, ancient times. There is only Europe the Wonderworker.

O, my brothers, can you hear the words of the prodigal daughter? Can you hear the boasting of this aristocrat, who has fallen into poverty, is ragged and hungry? She is already nothing, yet boasts as if she were everything. She is nothing, yet basks in vainglory, as if the whole world belonged to her. She exalts herself, so that she may be respected, but she is only despised. She paints and adorns herself, so as to look more beautiful. But they all scorn her and shun her, as the ugliest of monsters.

Christ’s elder daughter, Asia, cannot bear to look at Europe: she sees abomination, she hears disharmony; Europe gives off a revolting stench, she is covered in scabs and wounds. For Asia, Europe is unbearable.

This is what Christ’s Asia answers the anti-Christian Europe, who has fallen away: ‘What do you have of your own? What do you have to boast of? What are you proud of? Even if you have found something, whose soil have you found it on? Why do you boast of the compass, of electricity, of steamships and other inventions? Where did you find all this? Surely it was in the courts of the Lord, Who invited you there? If you do not remember your Master, you are a thief. Yes, indeed, you are a thief. And more than that, you rob, you plunder and you oppress. You have taken for yourself God’s wonders, those which you were the last to discover. Truly I say unto you: all your wonders are God’s wonders, they are not yours and never will be yours, even after a million years. You have only one thing – listen to it and memorize it – you have only one thing which is not from God, but from yourself: this is the misuse of His wonders. Wonders are from God, misuse is from you. For example, the flying-machine is a wonder, but yours is the destruction of humanity with the help of this machine. It is God’s to sail, yours to sink. It is God’s to heal, yours to poison. It is God’s to unite, yours to divide. Truth is God’s, yours is the lie. Mercy is God’s, yours is self-love. What do you have in common with Christ, Europe, with Christ, with the God of truth and mercy? Nothing. And you, Serbia? Why are you troubled and why do you blush? Because you have followed after Europe. You have made friends with the apostate. You have gone after the harlot. If you correct your ways, you will be blessed. And blessed is God Who awaits your correction’. Amen.

Inspiration from the Irish

Our kinsmen in Ireland declared their independence from the British Empire in 1916.  Would it not be wonderful if in 2016, one hundred years after their act of bravery, their kinfolk in the South celebrated this anniversary by declaring our own independence from our own oppressors-exploiters, the American Empire (and more broadly, from the globalist financial elite that control that brood of vipers called the federal government nesting in Washington City)?

While the rest of the States would be wringing their hands over which corporate-controlled candidate should be their Cæsar/President, we could be getting to work upbuilding our families, churches, farms, and other important aspects of our towns, villages, and cities that have long been neglected.

Here, then, are two documents that the Irish wrote, one their declaration of independence from 1916 (proclaimed fittingly on Easter Monday), and the other their plea to the free nations of the world (1919) for recognition of their independence from the British Empire and for help in keeping it.

While not everything will strike the Southerner as being wholly sound (e.g., the egalitarian sentiment in the 1916 declaration; nor is the militaristic tone all that helpful for those like the South striving for peaceful secession), there is much in them that is quite good and useful for our own situation.

Furthermore, now that the BRICSA alliance is gaining strength, with nations looking to it for refuge from the brutal [u].S.-E.U. block (Germany and Argentina being the latest to consider joining),

the South may have the formidable foreign help this time that it did not have in its last try at freedom.

O Holy Saints Patrick, Brigid, Ita, Columba, Kenneth, and all our glorious and holy Irish mothers and fathers who stand before the throne of Christ our King and God, do thou intercede for us unworthy wretches, thy children at the South, that we would be made worthy to live in freedom in this world, to the glory of God, the good of our neighbor, and the salvation of our souls.

(See the end of this essay for a short listing of Irish saints and a brief telling of their lives:

1916 Proclamation (24 April):

IRISHMEN AND IRISHWOMEN: In the name of God and of the dead generations from which she receives her old tradition of nationhood, Ireland, through us, summons her children to her flag and strikes for her freedom.

Having organised and trained her manhood through her secret revolutionary organisation, the Irish Republican Brotherhood, and through her open military organisations, the Irish Volunteers and the Irish Citizen Army, having patiently perfected her discipline, having resolutely waited for the right moment to reveal itself, she now seizes that moment, and supported by her exiled children in America and by gallant allies in Europe, but relying in the first on her own strength, she strikes in full confidence of victory.

We declare the right of the people of Ireland to the ownership of Ireland and to the unfettered control of Irish destinies, to be sovereign and indefeasible. The long usurpation of that right by a foreign people and government has not extinguished the right, nor can it ever be extinguished except by the destruction of the Irish people. In every generation the Irish people have asserted their right to national freedom and sovereignty; six times during the past three hundred years they have asserted it in arms. Standing on that fundamental right and again asserting it in arms in the face of the world, we hereby proclaim the Irish Republic as a Sovereign Independent State, and we pledge our lives and the lives of our comrades in arms to the cause of its freedom, of its welfare, and of its exaltation among the nations.

The Irish Republic is entitled to, and hereby claims, the allegiance of every Irishman and Irishwoman. The Republic guarantees religious and civil liberty, equal rights and equal opportunities to all its citizens, and declares its resolve to pursue the happiness and prosperity of the whole nation and of all its parts, cherishing all of the children of the nation equally, and oblivious of the differences carefully fostered by an alien Government, which have divided a minority from the majority in the past.

Until our arms have brought the opportune moment for the establishment of a permanent National Government, representative of the whole people of Ireland and elected by the suffrages of all her men and women, the Provisional Government, hereby constituted, will administer the civil and military affairs of the Republic in trust for the people.

We place the cause of the Irish Republic under the protection of the Most High God, Whose blessing we invoke upon our arms, and we pray that no one who serves that cause will dishonour it by cowardice, inhumanity, or rapine. In this supreme hour the Irish nation must, by its valour and discipline, and by the readiness of its children to sacrifice themselves for the common good, prove itself worthy of the august destiny to which it is called.

Message to the Free Nations of the World

21 January 1919

To the Nations of the World!
Greeting.

The Nation of Ireland having proclaimed her national independence, calls through her elected representatives in Parliament assembled in the Irish Capital on January 21st, 1919, upon every free nation to support the Irish Republic by recognising Ireland's national status and her right to its vindication at the Peace Congress.

Nationally, the race, the language, the customs and traditions of Ireland are radically distinct from the English. Ireland is one of the most ancient nations in Europe, and she has preserved her national integrity, vigorous and intact, through seven centuries of foreign oppression: she has never relinquished her national rights, and throughout the long era of English usurpation she has in every generation defiantly proclaimed her inalienable right of nationhood down to her last glorious resort to arms in 1916.

Internationally, Ireland is the gateway of the Atlantic. Ireland is the last outpost of Europe towards the West: Ireland is the point upon which great trade routes between East and West converge: her independence is demanded by the Freedom of the Seas: her great harbours must be open to all nations, instead of being the monopoly of England. To-day these harbours are empty and idle solely because English policy is determined to retain Ireland as a barren bulwark for English aggrandisement, and the unique geographical position of this island, far from being a benefit and safeguard to Europe and America, is subjected to the purposes of England's policy of world domination.

Ireland to-day reasserts her historic nationhood the more confidently before the new world emerging from the War, because she believes in freedom and justice as the fundamental principles of international law, because she believes in a frank co-operation between the peoples for equal rights against the vested privileges of ancient tyrannies, because the permanent peace of Europe can never be secured by perpetuating military dominion for the profit of empire but only by establishing the control of government in every land upon the basis of the free will of a free people, and the existing state of war, between Ireland and England, can never be ended until Ireland is definitely evacuated by the armed forces of England.

For these among other reasons, Ireland - resolutely and irrevocably determined at the dawn of the promised era of self-determination and liberty that she will suffer foreign dominion no longer - calls upon every free nation to uphold her national claim to complete independence as an Irish Republic against the arrogant pretensions of England founded in fraud and sustained only by an overwhelming military occupation, and demands to be confronted publicly with England at the Congress of the Nations, in order that the civilised world having judged between English wrong and Irish right may guarantee to Ireland its permanent support for the maintenance of her national independence.

Orthodox Metaphysics; a Serbian Genius; and . . . a New Southern Power System?

Rather than continue to rely on the destructive metaphysics inherited from the Renaissance and Enlightenment, which follow the nominalist teachings of Aristotle, St Augustine, and Thomas Aquinas that man and creation are two separate, discreet entities; that the creation has likewise been sundered from God; and that, since this is so, man may exploit the creation at will without consequence for himself, we should recover the older, traditional view that all things in the creation (including man) are interconnected and that all are indwelled by the uncreated energies of God by virtue of all things having the source of their being in the Word of God (they are the logoi of the Logos, words of the Word - see the writings of St Maximus the Confessor, St Gregory Palamas, and others).

How are we to replace the base, contradictory narrative of man’s “progress” with something better?  Is there an answer elsewhere?  Can claims of religious belief and theology be rational?  Are they not merely leaps of faith, with no reason behind them?  In short, there are answers and religious claims just as warranted as a “scientific” claim, and sometimes more so.  When we consider “warranted” beliefs, as they are often termed in philosophy, we can see alternate explanations that are far superior to the reductionist materialism of our day.

It is my thesis that there is an alternate metaphysics that is suppressed by the centralized Western establishment, allowing for a covert advancement in highly complex technologies, while the ignorant public have been given a mass consumption physics and worldview that is ultimately a dead-end (materialism).  One of the chief arguments I fall back on is the fact that highly advanced technologies are based on a rigorous, formal logic that is ordered and perfectly systematic.  Since logic itself, which forms the basis and presupposition of those systems, is not, and cannot be “matter,” the central narrative explanation of reality given by modern academia for man’s origins, “Enlightenment,” and so-called scientific advance is completely wrong.

This alternate metaphysics is closer to what is found in aspects of Platonism and Eastern Orthodox theology, and this is likely what informed Tesla to be so successful with his inventions, despite his latter days of theosophy.  I do not intend to advocate all of Platonism or Pythagoreanism or later developments in Plato’s students, but rather when considering foundational philosophical presuppositional commitments and assumptions, the ideas of thinkers closer to this tradition are more correct than those of an atomistic, materialist bent.  Modern quantum thinkers generally tend to be open about “Platonic” theories of metaphysics matching up to their discoveries, while materialistic science is utterly bankrupt at providing any coherent account of reality.

By many accounts, the iconic inventor Nikola Tesla was years ahead of his time. His ideas for a worldwide wireless communications system, and a wireless energy transmission technology, never got the traction they perhaps may have deserved during his lifetime, and but now, over a century later, two scientists are retracing his steps and plan to build a prototype of his Wardenclyffe tower using modern materials and advanced electronics.

The Planetary Energy Transmitter project seeks to crowdfund $800,000 in donations in order to build the Tesla Tower prototype, and to continue Tesla's research into
wireless energy transmission and reception, which is intended to demonstrate the viability and efficiency of the technology.

If the prototype functions as intended, and further research into wireless power reception plays out as well, the Tesla tower and wireless receivers could "allow transmission of large amounts of energy via ground to any kind of distances - instantly, safely and without losses.

 . . .

If the calculations of the two scientists behind the Tesla tower project, Leonid Plekhanov and Sergey Plekhanov, are correct, and the appropriate supporting infrastructure for reception of wireless energy transmissions is developed, we may be able to effectively power the entire globe with renewable energy sources, such as solar, due to the possibility of transmitting it with minimal losses.

 . . .

Provided the wireless transmission of power from the Tesla towers proves harmless, this would be a great improvement over the means of power generation used today that mar so much of the earth either in their results (radioactive and other poisonous wastes) or in the gathering of raw materials for them (strip mining, blowing away the tops of mountains, destruction of sea coasts, etc.).  One ensample on fracking:

The Southern view of the creation down through the years has often been closer to the integral Orthodox view than to the reductionist Enlightenment view (seeing the supernatural in the natural and so on).  Hopefully this will allow us to make a smoother transition to something like a Tesla system when/if the time comes.

The Alternative to Free Southern Nation-States?

Being dissolved by the acid of anti-Christian globalism and remade for a subhuman way of living:

 . . .

The banksters are at liberty to subvert, invade and expropriate across the world forever [while there is no Christian Tsar in Russia, that is--W.G.]. A key condition for the IMF’s extension of its $18 billion loan to Ukraine is “territorial integrity” – in their war on Novorossiya, nationalists act as the foot soldiers of predatory multinationals. They march not for their fatherland, but for the greater glory of Exxon-Mobil, Monsanto, and Lady Gaga; they are expendable, and so is Ukraine. Fantasies of a state from the Carpathians to the Caucasus seem quaint compared to the vision of planetary rule decreed by the masters of the dialectic, and the parochial nihilism of Bandera’s disciples represents only a transitory stage toward universal enslavement and the dissolution of all peoples.

Globalist elites design their policies according to the classical maxim of divide et impera, yet its esoteric corollary is solve et coagula, the alchemical process applied to entire societies. Behind inane sloganeering on freedom, democracy and human rights lies a relentless desire to destroy. Sovereignty must be ended, sex and the family distorted unto grotesquery, and God usurped by Mammon. The nation – the great extended family – must be annihilated. What the Brave New World needs are neither Russians nor Ukrainians, but demographic biomass engineered for exploitation.

As Mr Hackard says (along with many others), a true nation must be rooted in faith.  Southerners in their various fatherlands must unite around Christianity, but not one vaguely defined, not the deceptive pluralism we have lived with for so many years now.  We must unite around Orthodox Christianity or face the same fate as the Western nations since the Great Schism in 1054 A. D. - either continuous warfare between the different Christian sects (whether Roman Catholic or Protestant), which, having rejected Christ as their head, have, wittingly or unwittingly, become carnal, earthly organizations with carnal, earthly goals (territorial domination, wealth, comfort, etc.); or else we will descend into religious tolerance, which leads to indifference towards the truth.  This in turn gives birth to the denial of any truth, to the relativism, nihilism, and atheism we see so much of today in Western Europe, the [u]nited States, and all the heirs of Western culture.

We must correct this error of our forefathers if we wish it to go well for us as free peoples, if we indeed wish to be true brothers and sisters one of another in Christ, if we would be Christian nations in more than name alone.  Here, then, are paths to some articles and videos to help us understand what true Christianity is:

Do Americans Want a War with Russia?

The angry reaction of the American Empire’s loyal servants (Sean Hannity, Sen McCain, and so on) towards Russia in the wake of the downing of a passenger jet in the Ukraine is both predictable and unfortunate.  But as calls for more and more war-like responses by Washington City grow, we ought to take a look back into the past of the [u]nited States and try to understand where such a fanatical desire to force their will onto others militarily comes from, and then consider if it ought not to be quelled.  Thomas DiLorenzo in ‘The Birth of America’s “Religion of Violence”’ (7 July 2014), is quite helpful in this regard.  It begins:

Laurence Vance has coined the word “warvangelical” to describe so-called evangelical Christians who are obsessed with supporting all of the state’s wars and all of the death, destruction, and mayhem that they entail.  They ignore the ancient just war tradition of St. Thomas Aquinas, among others, and simply support all war and all military aggression – as long as the U.S. government is the aggressor.

These are the people who booed at Ron Paul when he reminded them at one of their conventions that Jesus is known as “the Prince of Peace.”  These are the people who became quite hysterical (and hateful) when Ron Paul quoted the Biblical admonition, “live by the sword, die by the sword” in response to a question about a U.S. Army sniper who had written a book boasting of murdering hundreds of Iraqis after he was murdered after returning to civilian life.

These are the people whose churches are littered with gigantic American flags that dwarf any Christian icons; who routinely ask anyone who owns a military uniform to wear it to church; who sing the state’s war anthems at their services; who divert their Sunday offerings away from the poor and needy in their communities so that the money can be sent to grossly-overpaid military bureaucrats; and who can never stop thanking, thanking, thanking, and thanking “soldiers” for their “service” in murdering foreigners and bombing and destroying their cities – if not their entire societies – in the state’s aggressive, non-defensive, foreign wars.

Where did this very un-Christian “religion” of violence come from?  The answer to this question is that it first developed as a part of New England’s neo-Puritanical “Yankees” in the early and mid-nineteenth century.  It reached its zenith in the 1860s when, finally in control of the entire federal government, the New England Yankees waged total war on the civilian population of a large part of their own country, mass murdering fellow Americans by the hundreds of thousands, and then singing a “religious” song that described it all as “the glory of the coming of the Lord.”

As Murray Rothbard described them in his essay, “Just War”:

The North’s driving force, the ‘Yankees’ – that ethnocultural group who either lived in New England or migrated from there to upstate New York, northern and eastern Ohio, northern Indiana, and northern Illinois – had been swept by . . . a fanatical and emotional neo-Puritanism driven by a fervent ‘postmillenialism’ which held that as a precondition of the Second Advent of Jesus Christ, man must set up a thousand-year-Kingdom of God on Earth.  The Kingdom is to be a perfect society.  In order to be perfect, of course, this Kingdom must be free of sin . . . .  If you didn’t stamp out sin by force you yourself would not be saved.

This is why “the Northern war against slavery partook of a fanatical millenialist fervor, of a cheerful willingness to uproot institutions, to commit mayhem and mass murder, to plunder and loot and destroy, all in the name of high moral principle,” wrote Rothbard.  They were “humanitarians with the guillotine,” the “Jacobins, the Bolsheviks of their era.”

Also, as we pray for the living who have been affected by the airliner’s crashing, so let us remember to do the same for those who have died.  The departed benefit from our prayers just as do those still here in the world.  A short explanation:

Laying the Right Foundation

In the event that the Southern States are able to gain their independence from the American Empire, what ought to be the foundation stone upon which we build our society (or, perhaps, societies)?  Should it be the pursuit of never-ending wealth?  The absolute freedom of the individual to do as he pleases?  ‘Democratic values’?  ‘Family values’?  Religious devotion to a paper constitution?

If we would live to see good days as a truly free people, we must rather work first and foremost to be holy.  The writer Natalya Irtenina, by exploring the history of her own Russian people in ‘Holiness as a National Ideal’ (trans. Mark Hackard), helps us to see why holiness is the indispensable foundation for any nation.

 . . .

However strange it may be, we must explain that Russian saints are our national inheritance, along with statesmen, geniuses and folk heroes. “Their ideal sustained the life of the people for centuries; from their fire all of Rus lit their icon lamps.” (G.P. Fedotov) Holiness, striving for heaven and to God’s truth, gaining the Holy Spirit – all this was the primordial language of being understandable to all, from peasants to princes, and it united all in common service to a civilizational supra-value: the Holy Trinity of the Orthodox faith. Due to this language common to everyone, a genuine democratic ethos was possible as one of the auxiliary instruments of authority, and also possible was the symphony between people and authority. The people, through revered elders and monks, taught princes and boyars, engaged in conversation with them, and not simply about the weather, their health or the harvest, but about how to govern the land, how to live in the world with the people and one’s conscience, how to arrange a just trial, and how to build the Russian state.

Theodosius of the Caves, Sergius of Radonezh, Kirill of the White Lake, Pafnutius of Borovsk and Joseph of Volotsk were all interlocutors and authors of instructive addresses to princes, while in the imperial age we count Prelate Mitrofan Voronezhsky, whom Peter the Great rather highly respected, Metropolitan Filaret (Drozdov), to whom three emperors confided, Seraphim of Sarov, who wrote a letter addressed to Nicholas II – one that the Tsar would read seventy years after the Venerable’s passing. Quite often the saints were made to directly intervene in political matters, time after time proving that politics has no right to be a dirty affair, and that only a house built with stability over centuries in mind will have brotherly love and moral cleanliness set into its foundation. Holiness reconciled princes in their frequently bloody feuds and acted as a denunciation of untruth and lawlessness (Metropolitan Philip at the time of Ivan IV’s Oprichnina). The moral and spiritual authority of the saints was very high: they could give orders to rulers, and by the force of their words and personality subdue rebellious tempers. And, of course, it is impossible to compare anything with the spiritual and moral influence of the saints on the Russian people as a whole.

 . . .

The language of holiness speaks of man as a person open to God for cooperation with Him in overcoming evil (sinfulness) within himself, for the deification of man himself and the consecration of the world. In other words, holiness sees in a person the image of God. Sentimental humanism, having looked upon man, sees in him only man, just a reasoning animal.

The language of sentimentality speaks of man as a closed being, self-sufficient and atomized, in the grip of feelings and emotions, sufferings and endless implacable desires, and endowed with creative potential that is “god” in man – it is this “god” we must serve, to whom we must render honor and whose dignity we must cherish. Thus, on the one hand, it follows to endlessly nurture pride in a human being, and on the other, to pity him and love him with endless, compassionate love. But nothing other than the abysses of Satan’s depths can be uncovered by this combination of hubris and self-pity within sinful man. The language of sentimentality is frivolous and sufficiently primitive; it glides along the surface rather than delving inside and examines not the eternal – the immortal soul – but temporary manifestations of the human being: his conveniences and inconveniences, his opinions, whims and experiences.

In the language of holiness, love for man is reasoning and sober-thinking, and it divides good from evil within him; it demands that the former be strengthened and the latter overcome. In the language of sentimental humanism, pseudo-love is based upon pity, accepting man in his entirety while patronizing his evil, making no demands of his good, and finally blending both into conceptions of “personal freedom” and “human rights.” Holiness does not place earthly life and its comforts at the apex of the scale of values. Sentimentality above all else esteems the earthly and bodily and bows before the idol of comfort and a comfortable, easy life, and for this reason it fears death terribly – the spectacle of death captivates it like nothing else.

The cultivation of fallen man’s passions is now considered something correct, a cultivation of one’s nature, and this is enabled; that’s what our teachers have come to. But Christian faith teaches the crucifixion of the passions and whims of the flesh, for otherwise man will perish eternally.

 . . .

Emotions and feelings have finally crushed everything under their weight, and it is wholly unimportant what evokes them, whether the dark or the radiant aspects of life – our main concern is that these powerful impressions reside with us. A horror film has the same energy conversion efficiency as a good comedy. In terms of the power of emotions evoked, the seizure of hostages by terrorists is equal to a football game or a television game show. The media have long understood this and activate in their work the means capable of “switching on” feelings, “tear-jerking,” and giving the public the most diverse basic emotions. Even news reports and information bulletins are turned into either sugar-coated childish prattle or somber ventriloquism to frighten us with bad weather over the coming days.

A man in his right mind, one who does not suffer from an excess of sentimentality, perceives such a presentation of information as appalling banality and the retardation of the populace. Yet for a person who understands no language other than that of liberal humanism, this seems the norm. He will not be made to recoil by the behavior of a television reporter who, doing a segment on a train crash, sticks her microphone into the faces of bloodied victims and asks them to tell what they felt when their carriage derailed.

The language of infantile sentimentalism makes real life an endless soap opera; Santa Barbara can go on seasonal break.

In the paradigm of a language declaring democracy a goal in itself rather than an auxiliary means of authority, an authentic and natural democratic ethos is impossible. Although the masses and the state speak in one language today, the falsity and artificiality of sentimental humanism is well understood at the upper levels of society. In this language, it’s easy to deceive and manipulate, as it appeals to the emotions, the most capricious human element. The times of honest dissidents who called for “adherence to the Constitution” are long gone.

The “development,” or more specifically the degradation, to which sentimental language was subject during its seventy years of non-being in Russia, consisted of the continuing and active reduction of the individual. Just as man was equated to his labor in the Soviet revelation, liberal humanism limited him through an opposite ideal – consumption. It even adapted his creative potential to expand the circle of consumption: “If you’re so smart, than make more money.” The simplification of this language and man’s debasement will continue until we reach the level of mumbling, and after that, total muteness.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” At the basis of the language of holiness is Christ the Word, the Divine Logos, Wisdom. God’s image in man, the Logos, is Wisdom.

When human language completely switches black and white, men lose the Logos. They become mindless and speechless, without creative powers. Man is made into a zero. He will converse as a parrot does, repeating a confined set of catch-phrases (which are already actively formed and used by liberal-oriented “talking heads” in the media). Yet this will be not a man but a vegetable, fit only for consuming as a meal – and we can hardly exclude that cannibalism might flourish and become the norm, just as sodomy now thrives and is considered the norm. All previous historical experience and all classical culture, science, art, etc. would be pointless; no one would understand them. All of this shall die at that moment when evil will finally be declared as good, and good evil. How can one understand anything when viewing everything from upside-down?

If holiness is the uncovering of God’s image and likeness in oneself, then the muteness of future humanity is the uncovering of the image and likeness of the devil. Christ is replaced by Antichrist.

 . . .

A people unable to resurrect the image of God within itself is historically doomed.

The language of holiness must be completely restored in the consciousness of Russians, the inheritors of the great saints.

Speaking for ourselves, this is the genuine Russian language, the language of national consciousness. Just as for the Serbs it is genuine Serbian, for Greeks authentic Greek, for Georgians Georgian, and so forth.

The South, too, has spoken this language of holiness in the past, though it was long ago in the lands of our forefathers before the Roman Catholics and Protestants (and now their offspring, the secular humanists) corrupted her tongue with new words not of the Holy Ghost.

But if we in humility and love cry out to our holy mothers and fathers who knew the True Faith and kept it free of spot and blemish, and likewise purified their souls and bodies of every stain of sin with the help of God - St Ælfred the Great, the South’s patron saint,

St Cuthbert of Lindisfarne, the great intercessor for all the English peoples before the throne of the Lord, St Brigid of Kildare in Ireland, St Moses the Ethiopian, and all the rest of that great host - then we too will be able to become ourselves - banishing all darkness, filling ourselves with Light - to uncover our true national character, and to contribute what the Lord God would have us to give, as a mature Christian nation, to the rest of the world to bring about salvation, theosis, for all of the peoples and blessings for all the creation.

May it be so!
