‘Pax Americana’

It is a commonplace to hear apologists for the American Empire (Limbaugh, Hannity, O’Reilly, etc.) speak of the [u]nited States as the greatest force for peace and stability in the world.  But as this list of attempted and successful overthrows of foreign governments by [u.] S. forces  shows, such a statement, like many of the things we are told about ‘America’, simply is not true.  Bear in mind this is only half the list:
