Wolf and Sheep

A short outtake on the Pope and the Orthodox Church:

Again the same year, 2010, sadly the Pope visited Cyprus. The Pope, as we say colloquially, has gone door to door to all the Orthodox churches in order to have each of the Orthodox churches bow down to him. All of the Orthodox churches!

And as I have written in the past, this calls to mind the Book of Revelation where, all are led to worship the beast. I have written an article entitled: "With the Lamb or with the Beast? Should we follow Christ or the Pope?"

He has passed through all of the Orthodox Churches one after another: Romania, Bulgaria, Greece. Do you remember the battle we had in 2001 with His Eminence Archbishop Christodoulos, in an effort to prevent the Pope from coming?

This shouldn't seem strange to you. All the evil that has occurred, all the tragic events [we have been discussing] began the second the Pope set foot in Greece. Holy and Orthodox Greece was polluted by the Pope when he set foot down here. We allowed the heresiarch Pope, the worldly Pope to come… Papism is not a Church. And we received him as a Hierarch, as a Bishop. And the other churches did the same.

The only Orthodox countries which have yet to receive a Papal visit are Russia- it is holding on but he is trying to corrupt Russia- and Serbia. And now under the pretense that the 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan is approaching, they are preparing… the new Patriarch is preparing… under the previous Patriarch, Paul of Serbia, and with Artemios within the hierarchy, they did not dare to discuss the idea of the Pope visiting Serbia. But now he is going to Serbia.

A Renewed Push to Discredit Russia by the New World Order

Just to review, before it was Russia invaded Georgia and the Ukraine, illegally annexed Crimea, shot down a jet liner, and hacked the 2016 election (among other claims).

Now, according to the globalist mouthpieces,

1. Russia is a failure at getting chemical weapons out of Syria:

(A nice aside on the claim that Assad used chemical weapons in April:  http://katehon.com/article/us-using-fake-news-justify-attacks-syria)

2. Russia is arming the Taliban to kill American soldiers:

3. And last, Russia is a ‘violator of religious freedom’ for banning the Jehovah’s Witnesses from her land:

(What is more important, the salvation of the Russian people or the ‘free exercise of religion’ by Jehovah’s Witnesses?  And since when are Evangelicals concerned about the banning of groups they consider cults?  All must yield to the over-riding concern to smear Russia, it seems.)

More is probably in the works.

***

Pres Trump’s first trip abroad as head of state has been announced, and the places are significant:

The Vatican
Israel
Saudi Arabia
Brussels
G7 meeting (in Sicily)

All are major centers of power for the New World Order.  Instead of giving them an earful of ‘America First!  America First!’, it is more likely he will get some marching orders from them.

Sundry Views of Assad

Someone is not being truthful in their words about Pres Assad.

Pres Trump:

"That's a butcher. That's a butcher," Trump said of Assad. "So I felt we had to do something about it."

The stark language is the most blunt terms Trump has used to describe the Syrian president, who is accused of war crimes in an attempt to hold onto power during a prolonged civil war. In the past, Trump has called Assad "evil" and "an animal."

‘Majd’, a Syrian resident:

The majority here loves Assad. He has never committed a crime against his own people… The chemical attack was staged by the terrorists helped by the USA and the UK,  etc. Everyone knows that here.

American soldiers and people should not be supporting barbarian al Qaeda terrorists who are killing Christians, Muslims in my country and everyone.

Considering the track record of [u.] S. presidents lately regarding wars in the Middle East, North Africa, and elsewhere, we are more inclined to side with the view of ‘Majd’.

Evil Unnoticed

How is it that so few will be able to discern the evil intentions of the Antichrist?  The loss of the Orthodox Faith is the foremost reason.  With the loss of Truth, man’s proper relationship to God (Who is Reality) is lost, and everything becomes distorted and confused.  The hierarchy amongst created things here on earth (amongst angels, men, and things) is lost, and confusion and relativism become the new measuring rods of what is good and right - multiculturalism, eclecticism, ecumenism, syncretism, and all the rest.

Max Picard spoke in more detail of this current state of the world when asked a similar question - how could Hitler have come to power in Germany.  Fr Seraphim Rose gives us the quotes:

And this brings us to the spiritual state of our modern people, not necessarily under the direct influence of occultism or modern art, but still that very state which occultism and modern art expressed.

This we can see by a few pages from a book by another German, who is actually a Jew, became converted to Catholicism, became totally disillusioned with modern Europe and left the cities and went, found himself a place on a lake in Switzerland where last I heard he was still living. His name is Max Picard. He wrote a book called The Flight from God which describes how the life of modern man, especially life in the cities, is one of a complete running away from reality, running away from God. After the Second World War he wrote a second book called Hitler in Ourselves. Here he very nicely expresses what is the background for all these movements.

“During a trip to Germany in 1932, the head of an influential political party called upon me to ask how it was possible that Hitler had become so much of a figure and had gained so many followers. I pointed to a magazine which was lying on the table and told him to look at it. Page one was filled by a half-naked dancer; on page two, soldiers were drilling with a machine gun, and farther down a scientist was shown in his laboratory; page three featured the evolution of the bicycle from the middle of the nineteenth century to the present day, and a Chinese poem was printed next to that; the following page was divided between the calisthenics of factory workers during a rest period and the writing technique of a South American Indian tribe by means of knotted strings; on the opposite page, Senator So-and-so was depicted in his summer retreat.

“„This,’ I said, „is how modern man grasps the things of the world outside himself. Modern man drags all things toward himself chaotically and without cohesion; this proves that his own inner life is a chaos lacking cohesion. Modern man no longer confronts the things of the world as solidly existing, nor do things register in his mind individually; neither does he approach a particular thing by a particular act: modern man with his chaotic inner life has a correspondingly chaotic outer world whirling toward him. What is coming is no longer scrutinized; it suffices that anything at all should be coming along. To this disjointed tumult anything or anybody could admix -- Adolf Hitler, too: he gets inside a man without his noticing how he got there; from that point on, it no longer depends upon the victim but upon the skill of Adolf Hitler, whether he will merely pass through that man’s mind or take hold of it.’

“The disjointedness of a magazine, however, seems old-fashioned, almost handmade, compared to the radio. In the radio the business of disjointedness has become mechanized: 6 A.M. calisthenics; 6:10 A.M. recorded music; 7 A.M. news; 8 A.M. Morse-alphabet course; 9 A.M. morning sermon; 9:30 A.M. „In the Lake Dwellers' Village’; 10 A.M. Beethoven sonata for flute and piano; 10:30 A.M. farming lecture; 10:45 A.M. world news; 11 A.M. Overture to [Wagner’s] „Rienzi’—and so on till the Spanish course at 10:10 P.M. and the Jazz hour at 10:30 P.M.

“This world of the radio not only is disjointed;” That’s classical radio;
that’s good radio. “it produces disjointedness: it presents all things in such a way that they will not hang together from the very start and thus are forgotten one by one even before they have disappeared; from the start they are shrouded in a haze of oblivion. This outer world presupposes that man’s mind is no longer capable of perceiving the things of this world in any context -- as they are, that is, as they endure, and as they are correlated to one another in their nature --” rather “it operates primarily toward the inner discontinuity, toward the disjointedness of man, and with that it works.

“There no longer is an outer world which can be perceived, because it is a jumble -- likewise, there is no longer in man a mind able to perceive with clarity, because his inner world, too, is a jumble. Therefore, man no longer approaches objects by an act of will; he no longer selects the objects of the external world and no longer examines them: the world is fluid; disjointed objects move past disjointed man. It no longer matters what passes by; what counts is only that something should pass by. Into this line-up anything could sneak, including Adolf Hitler; and one prefers that at least he, Adolf Hitler, should turn up than to have nothing turn up at all. „Heil’ to him; for not only does he march along as part of the jumble, but he also sees to it that the march of the jumble does not stop -- he mechanizes the flow of events and things assembly-line fashion and does it better than anyone else.

“The Big City is the expression of the disjointed as such. In it the disjointed has become stone, nay, concrete. Constantly the lines of the houses are interrupted by the movings of automobiles, of streetcars and trains which cut through everything like machines. Human figures appear as dissolved into indistinct blots, hurtling back and forth between the walls of houses and of streets like pawns of evil powers. The sky itself seems removed farther from earth than elsewhere, and even the sky has lost continuity with itself, for it is constantly cut through by sharp-silhouetted planes.

“From this outer jumble, then, Adolf Hitler could easily sneak into the inner jumble; in this disjointedness he could show himself beside anything because he fitted anything: such as he was, he fitted into anything disjointed.

“And as again and again he showed himself in this jumble, he became more distinct than the other parts of the chaos; one got used to him and accepted him as one accepts a toothpaste which turns up again and again in the chaos of advertising pages. Soon he appeared as the only reality in a world wherein everything else manifested itself only to vanish again immediately.

“Sorel believes that in a modern democracy it is possible for a handful of men to usurp the tools of power and to establish a dictatorship. That is true. But it is possible only because today everybody is slithering toward anything – and thus one might slide toward the means of power without noticing it, while others notice it even less. One need not make any special effort; one need not fight for the instruments of power -- one just grabs them as one grabs at anything else in the chaos wherein one slips. It is merely an accident that this should happen in the realm of politics; in this world of the momentary and the disjointed anything else might be grabbed as well, in [lieu]” place “of politics and dictatorship. Here, there exists no history of power-assumption; no history, no theory, no doctrine counts except the theory and the doctrine of chaos.

“Hitler had no need to conquer; everything was preconquered for him through the structure of discontinuity, through the general disjointedness. As a result, such a dictator tries to make up for that sham of Mein Kampf,” which he wrote, “which really was not necessary for the assumption of power: now that he possesses power, he strives with all the gestures, with all the big noise of power, and by violence and murder to prove that he is the dictator by his own act and not by an accident of chaos.

“Only in a world of total discontinuity could a nullity such as Hitler become Fuehrer, because only where everything is disjointed has comparison fallen into disuse. There was only Hitler, the nullity, before everybody’s eyes, and in this instable world wherein everything was changing at every moment one was glad that at least the one nullity, Hitler, remained stable before one’s eyes. An orderly world, a hierarchy, would automatically have placed the nullity, Hitler, into nothingness; he could not have been noticed. Hitler was the excrement of a demoniacal world; a world of truth in its order would have pushed him aside.”cccxxxvii

Again we see the same thing that it is the world, it is we the ordinary people who are living this very kind of life of disjointedness and used to the very phenomena which we see around us -- the newspapers, the radio, the television, the movies -- everything which is oriented toward pieces which do not fit together. There’s no God; there’s no overwhelming, underlying pattern to things, no God, no order. And the order which we see in our life is only left over from the previous time when people still believed in God. And that’s why Solzhenitsyn can look at America and say, “It’s coming here.”cccxxxviii You are sort of cutoff off; you don't see it. But it’s coming here because that’s the way, that’s what’s happening in the world. And of course, Americans are blinded because we’re used to having our food...

Fr. H: We’re protected.

Fr. S: ...and very much cut off from the reality.  . . .

A Papal Crusade

 . . .

“The Orthodox Church has encountered two great enemies on its historical path: Islamism and Papism. And today they, taking each other by the hand, have joined forces to destroy Greece… They burned and slaughtered our ancestors, but we think things will turn out better? Why are we receiving them into our country?” the spiritual father asked.

In his words, the refugees are, in fact, conquerors.

“Greece has become the court of the devil—any atheist and antichrist can find shelter in a country of martyrs and saints. There exists hatred and the desire to erase Orthodoxy and Greece from the face of the earth. Who will give an answer for this evil? Our atheistic rulers or the pope of Rome, who have become an object of veneration for some Orthodox? Unfortunately, everything is moving towards us communing of unleavened bread,” Fr. Gregory said, pointing to ancient divergence in Eucharistic practices between the Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic communion. “[A]nd the Koran will be held in our hands,” he said in conclusion.

So, another avenue to accomplish Papal ascendancy throughout the world:  using Muslim ‘refugees’ as stealth Crusaders (very ironic) to conquer Greece (and as many other countries as possible).

And there is the ‘climate change’ route as well:

More Papal Ecumenism

Pope Francis of the Roman Catholic Church and Pope Tawadros II of the Coptic Orthodox Church signed a declaration on Friday during the former’s visit to Egypt, agreeing that rebaptism should not be held for Christians wishing to convert from one church to the other.

 . . .

Friday’s agreement will end the previous standards that were practiced under late Pope Shenouda III, who asserted that one had to undergo rebaptism if one was not baptised in an Orthodox Church, according to state-owned newspaper Al Ahram.

Thankfully, there is some pushback against the heretical teachers within the Orthodox Church:

May God also help Patriarch Kirill of Moscow to distance himself from Pope Francis and other misguided souls.

Syncretism Is Rising Again in Rome

The blending of world religions has been high on the Roman Catholic Pope’s agenda for years now, and continues to be:

This year [2016] marks the 30th anniversary of the First World Day of Prayer for Peace that St. John Paul convened back in 1986, an historic event which saw world leaders of different religions come together for the very first time to pray for peace.
The Pope travelled to Assisi by helicopter and after his landing near the  Basilica of St Mary of the Angels where Bishop Domenico Sorrentino of Assisi and the local authorities greeted him, the Pope travelled by car to the Holy Convent of Assisi. Here he was welcomed by Father Mauro Gambetti, Custodian of the Holy Convent, the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, Bartholomew I, a Muslim reprepresentative, Dr Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury, the Syro-Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch, Efrem II, a Jewish representative and the Supreme Head of Tendai Buddhism (Japan). They then moved to the Cloister of Sixtus IV where the representatives of Christian denominations and World Religions were waiting.

The aforementioned Patriarch Bartholomew seems also to be playing the game of syncretism pretty well.  A recent speech of his focused quite a lot on an abstract, philosophic pan-religion that all world religions, including Orthodoxy, were measured against.  Notice also the focus on man rather than God and on the insistence of a ‘common future/journey’:

On Wednesday, April 26, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew left Geneva, where he had addressed the World Council of Churches the day before, for Cairo, where he attended and addressed an interreligious conference at Al-Azhar University on Thursday. His address, “Religions and Peace,” focused on the importance of religions and interreligious dialogue in today’s world, and his view of the equally peaceful nature of all religions.

The international peace conference was attended by representatives of the religious, political, and academic spheres from various states, Romfea reports. Conscious of his inter-religious audience, His Holiness speaks throughout of “religion” in general, rather than the particularities of Orthodox Christianity and union with Jesus Christ.

The patriarch opened by noting the increase in terrorist attacks over the past two decades, which have left countless dead and injured, “and which are becoming the greatest threat and source of fear for contemporary societies,” and which are typically blamed on religion. He also highlighted the simultaneous willingness for peace-promoting dialogue among political, religious, and secular leaders.

“How, then,” Patriarch Bartholomew wonders, “after so many conferences, declarations and initiatives for peace, could we witness an increase of violence, instead of noticing a progress in peace making?”

To understand our modern world, he pinpointed four areas in which, not simply Orthodoxy in particular, but religion in general plays a critical role: Religion is connected with the deep concerns of the human being, providing answers to existential questions and opening eternity to man; Religion is related to the identity of peoples and civilizations; Religion has created and preserved man’s greatest cultural achievements, moral values, compassion, and respect for all of creation; and Religion is a vital factor in the peace process.

His All-Holiness did note that religion can cause divisive intolerance and violence, but, speaking of all religions equally, added, “this is rather [religion’s] failure, not its essence, which is the protection of human dignity.”

In his explanation, the extremes of relativism and fundamentalism distort and prevent these essential roles of religion in the modern world, noting that fundamentalism provides skeptics with arguments against faith. Relativism “denies the existence of truth,” while in his presentation, fundamentalism is that which “considers that its own truth is unique, and must therefore be imposed over the others.”

The patriarch recalls the recent terrorist attacks in Paris, Brussels, Istanbul, Saint Petersburg or Stockholm, and the most recent against Coptic churches in Tanta and Alexandria. Of course, all of these attacks were carried out by Muslims and in the name of Islam, although this point does not appear in the patriarch’s speech. Describing all religions as having the same ideals, he states, “The truth is that violence is the negation of the fundamental religious beliefs and doctrine.”

Romfea notes that His All-Holiness received a round of applause from the audience gathered in heavily-Islamic Egypt when he affirmed, “We would like to oppose at least one prejudice: Islam does not equal terrorism, because terrorism is a stranger to any religion.” He also noted that the encyclical of last year’s Cretan Council also emphasizes that fundamentalism does not “belong to the essence of the phenomenon of religion.”

The Constantinopolitan prelate offered the counter-example of the Mediterranean region, which he characterized as a place of peaceful cohabitation of Jews, Christians, and Muslims over the past several centuries, where people of various religions living together find “the most fundamental message for humanity which unites.”

Drawing to a close, he called upon all nations, states, and religions to work together to overcome the violence that we see so often in our world today, as with the various Islamic attacks he had previously referenced. “We need one another; we need common mobilization, common efforts, common goals, common spirit… Our future is common, and the way toward this future is a common journey,” he stated.

In conclusion, the patriarch addressed the inter-religious gathering, with the same words of the Psalmist with which he had opened his presentation to the World Council of Churches: Behold now, what is so good or so pleasant as for brothers to dwell together in unity? (Psalm 133:1).

Then there is Hillary Clinton’s praise of the Patriarch, which has a like theme:

Today, on the 25th anniversary of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew’s election to the head of the Eastern Orthodox Church, Hillary Clinton issued the following statement:

“For the last quarter century, the world has been blessed to have the spiritual leadership of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, who has taken unprecedented steps to deepen cooperation within the Orthodox sects and to establish inter-religious dialogues with other Christian churches as well as with Muslim and Jewish communities. His All Holiness has worked tirelessly to move the Orthodox Church forward and repair bonds that have frayed over the centuries, including by being the first spiritual head of the Eastern Orthodox Christians to attend a papal inauguration since the Great Schism, and convening the first Great and Holy Council of the Orthodox Christian Church in over 1,200 years. I have had the great honor of seeing Patriarch Bartholomew’s spiritual leadership for myself, and am inspired by his work on human rights, religious tolerance, and environmental protection. I send my best wishes to His All Holiness on this momentous milestone.

With Archbishop Demetrios also being used lately as a stage prop to show the ‘strong bond’ between Greece and the [u.] S.,

one could at least hope that the Patriarch’s words and actions are simply a bending to pressure and threats applied by the globalists, and not his real beliefs, that he really believes that his See is ‘this martyric Phanar’ (https://www.patriarchate.org/paschal-proclamations/-/asset_publisher/QnqPBbQ42NED/content/patriarchal-encyclical-for-holy-pascha-2017, 2 May 2017), rather than an outpost of the New World Order in Asia Minor, an American vassal state, etc.  One can hope that he is trying to protect his flock as best he can from evil men by playing along, etc., but it seems a stretch.  It is sad to see anyone fall away from the True Faith, especially a bishop.  May God help him.

But we must return where we began, with the Roman Catholic Pope, for with him a deeper danger lies.  Blessed Fr Seraphim Rose said,

In this process of evolution, the “Body of Christ” is being formed in the world. Not the Christ of Orthodoxy, but the “universal” Christ or “Super-Christ,” as he says.

The Super-Christ is defined by Teilhard as the synthesis of Christ and the universe. This “evolving” Christ will bring about the unity of all religions. As he says, quote, “A general convergence of religions upon a universal Christ Who fundamentally satisfies them all: this seems to me the only possible conversion of the world, and the only form in which a religion of the future can be conceived.”cclxv Thus, for Teilhard de Chardin, Christianity is not unique truth, but it is rather, as he says, “an emerging phylum of evolution,”cclxvi subject to change and transformation like everything else in the evolving world.

Even like recent popes, he does not wish to convert the world, but only to offer the papacy as the kind of mystical center of man’s religious quest, a superdenominational Delphic Oracle.

As one of his admirers summarizes his view, “If Christianity...is indeed to be the religion of tomorrow, there is only one way in which it can hope to come up to the measure of today’s great humanitarian trends and assimilate them; and that is through the axis, living and organic, of its Catholicism centered on Rome.”cclxvii

Is this not what we are seeing with the World Day of Prayer for Peace, etc.?  Is this not what we are seeing with Pope Francis’s embracing of Martin Luther, Anglicans, and others?

The new syncretism, the religion of Antichrist, is coming, and people like Pope Francis are helping to usher it in.
