A Further Word on Louisiana’s Death Count

Regarding yesterday’s post, we do not wish to imply that all the new deaths being recorded are a direct result of COVID.  Many of these new deaths are the result of the misguided efforts to fight the illness.  The lockdowns, social distancing, widespread unemployment, and so on have led to a surge in deaths resulting from drug overdoses, suicides, etc.:
