We’re so exceptional, apparently, that the most basic laws of human existence like cause and effect, action and reaction, don’t apply to us.
Specifically, in the case of what led to the current war in the Ukraine, Americans act as though our looting of Russia after the fall of Communism never happened; that the uS lies and broken promises regarding the non-expansion of NATO never happened; that the joint EU-uS overthrow of the government of the Ukraine in 2014 and its replacement with neo-Nazi friendly elements never happened; that the uS rejection of negotiations with Russia over her security concerns these last few months never happened; that the flooding of the Ukraine with military weaponry over that same time period never happened.
Americans want to live in a phantasy world where the ogre Vladimir Putin just woke up one morning and decided he wanted to eat some Ukrainians for breakfast, so he launched a war against them.
This is how infantile American thinking has become.
If the peoples who are part of the uS want peace in the world, they need to keep their nose out of other countries’ business. If they don’t, one day someone is going to punch it hard, and break it, and make it bleed. And all of our supposed exceptionalism won’t dill the pain we will feel as a result one tiny little bit.
